I'M A S.L.U.T.

I am Strong, Limitless, Unashamed, and Transformative.

From the notorious Harvey Weinstein scandal to Terry Richard's infamous photography, the truth remains that misogyny and sexual misconducts are prominent factors within the fashion industry.

On a Friday night during Global Leadership Club, I watched an interview with Donna Karan (a WOMEN’S fashion designer and creator of DKNY) on the Harvey Weinstein allegations, where she defended his actions and antagonized women instead, questioning if “women are asking for it”. Having experiences with being called a “slut” or a “hoe” simply based on the clothes I wear, I was infuriated with her ignorant response.

In response to this new wave of misogyny, I decided to take action and use the platform I had with reEnVogue to create clothes specifically to empower women. I named this branch “S.L.U.T.” as an acronym-- Strong. Limitless. Unashamed. Transformative-- to tear down all of these small-minded sexist assumptions about women and how we choose to express our confidence.

In our I'm a S.L.U.T. branch of Re EnVogue, we strive to create unique pieces that will promote female empowerment and support women in all their personal fashion choices. It's time we take a step forward.
